British Airways has canceled more than 200 flights over the weekend, with further flights being canceled on Sunday.
For the third day in a straight, British Airways has canceled scores of flights with departures and arrivals at London Heathrow, which is the company’s primary airline base.
In addition to the two round-trip flights to and from Vienna, there are more than thirty short-haul departures and arrivals that have been grounded. Cancellations have also occurred for flights to other vacation locations, including Malaga, Nice, and Rome, among several others.
British Airways has canceled flights to Malaga, Nice, and Rotterdam with departures from London City.
Travel to Marrakech and Turin, as well as long-haul flights to Tampa and Las Vegas, were among the destinations that Gatwick Airport canceled. Ten hours have been added to the delay of a British Airways aircraft from Gatwick to Tenerife.
The British Airways (BA) airline canceled more than 160 flights to and from Heathrow Airport on Friday and Saturday, citing severe weather conditions and constraints on air traffic control at its primary base.
No other airline has canceled any flights departing from Heathrow on Sunday, as shown by the information provided by Flightradar24, which is a worldwide aviation monitoring service.
Ornella, a passenger, posted the following message on Twitter/X: “British Airways, thank you for ruining our day. Cancelling the flight at the eleventh hour and allowing passengers to spend three hours on the phone trying to get an answer is not normal when you are at a wedding.”
The response from British Airways was as follows: “Send us your booking reference via DM [direct message] along with as much information as possible so that we can take a closer look at it.”
Nevertheless, at least four con artists posing as British Airways also responded.
An individual who identified themselves as a “John Lewis British Airways Representative” and claimed to be a member of the “British Airways Support Team” sent the following message: “Hello, it’s unfortunate for the problem faced. We would want to take a further look at the issue that was brought up. We would appreciate it if you could follow us back and send us a direct message with your complete name, email address, phone number, and reservation number so that we can proceed.
