There will soon be a brand-new high-speed rail that will connect two of the most exciting cities in Spain.
The process of traveling between Barcelona and Malaga is set to become a great deal less difficult.
at spite of the fact that keeping up with all the news about trains is nearly as exhausting as making a mad run to the right platform when you’re at a new station, we keep our fingers crossed that it continues to come.
After all, rail travel is a lot more environmentally friendly way to explore the world.
Spain is adopting measures to make train travel more affordable and convenient, and in the near future, two of the country’s most hip towns, Malaga and Barcelona, will be linked by a brand-new high-speed service.
In point of fact, as soon as the year comes to a close.
Quite fascinating, don’t you think?
The story does not stop there, however. The service, which will leave once daily from each location (at 11.50am from Barcelona and 11.35am from Malaga), will transport customers to their destination in a time frame that is less than six hours – to be more precise, five hours and fifty minutes.
In December of 2023, the Barcelona to Seville line of the low-cost operator Iryo was launched, and this route is an expansion of that line via Seville. At the moment, a single ticket for a trip that will take place in December costs just twenty-four euros, which is much less than the price of a comparable service with AVE, which is around sixty-two euros.
It is also anticipated to be less expensive than flying. As of right now, Ryanair is offering roundtrip flights between the two cities in December for only €42. However, this price only includes a bag that can be stored beneath the seat. On the other hand, you will have a carry-on bag and a compact suitcase included in the price.
We think that everything sounds pretty darn wonderful. On December 15, the service will make its premiere, and tickets for the other days of the month and for the years 2025 and beyond are now available for purchase. You may check out the official website for purchasing tickets here.
Additional information on Spain’s trains
It was revealed by us earlier this year that there are plans to construct a railway that will link Malaga and Marbella; you can get further information on this topic here.
In addition, since we are discussing trains in Europe, we would like to suggest the following stations and sleeper rides that we consider to be the greatest in the continent.
