In 2009, the government of the Maldives gave its citizens permission to run their own eateries and guesthouses for foreign visitors. Travelers used to be restricted to visiting and staying on the islands that hosted resorts; however, this restriction has been lifted, and they are now free to visit and stay on any local island of their choosing. The number of hotels, bed & breakfasts, and other types of lodging has increased all of a sudden.
It was a monumental change in policy that at long last gave the community members a stake in the economic success.
Despite the fact that I want to participate in day-to-day activities, pictures of the perfect existence kept running through my head. There was no way I could pass up the opportunity to indulge in anything of that kind of luxury. Here’s some of my favorite resorts:
You could read your newest book while taking in the views from the pavilion that are worthy of a sunset lounge, or you could try out a new yoga class while taking in the views from the pavilion that are worthy of a dazzling blue sea. Your day of snorkeling and diving with manta rays is rounded off with champagne and canapés during the sunset.
You have the option of staying in the seclusion of your overwater bungalow or strolling over to Sip Sip, where they serve pizza baked in paradise and offer margaritas at a discount of two for one. You also have the option of being left off for the day on a fully private sandbank that already has an umbrella, beach chairs, and a cooler put up there for you. A holiday at Six Senses is really a choose-your-own-adventure, and at the conclusion of each day packed with either excitement or leisure, you will melt into your mattress euphoric, pleased, and maybe just a little bit burnt.
Anantara Kihavah Villas
The Anantara Kihavah is an excellent option for those looking for the vacation of a lifetime. It is situated on the Baa atoll, which is well-known for the abundant marine life that can be found there. It is only accessible by sea plane, and the whole island is filled to the brim with the whitest, powdery beaches and crystal-clear blue seas that you come to the Maldives to see! Because of its isolated position, Anantara Kihavah offers guests breathtaking views of the horizon and the night sky, which can be enjoyed to their fullest potential at the resort’s Sky Bar, which is also home to the biggest telescope in the Maldives. The atmosphere at Anantara is laid-back and barefoot chic.
Gili Lankanfushi
You guys, Gili Lankanfushi is such a wonderful and enchanted location. The overwater bungalows here have a mood that is somewhere between a floating treehouse and a sumptuous pirate ship, and they exude a rustic chic ambiance that is subtle in its level of luxury. They are just stunning.
You will want to spend the whole day lazing about on your hammock that is suspended over the lake, and you will want to spend the entire night sleeping beneath the stunning stars. Some of the villas, which are referred to as “cruisers,” offer you an even more one-of-a-kind experience since you can only reach them by boat (during the day, you have the option of captaining your own boat, or there is always someone on call to do it for you!). And if you want the best of the best or have a large family, you might consider staying in the largest overwater bungalow in the Maldives. It has four bedrooms, its own infinity pool, its own private island, and a slide that goes straight into the water.
