When it comes to living in the Maldives, it’s a dream come true — and it’s about to become even better when Mandarin Oriental launches a new private island resort there in 2025.
While no images of the resort have been released, the brand has said that the resort would include 56 overwater villas and 64 overwater villas, which will include villas that will be private dwellings, among other things. The resort claims to offer some of the biggest villas in the Maldives, and visitors can anticipate the smallest villas to be over 2,000 square feet in size and others that are more than 10,000 square feet in size.
Because the villas are being built with privacy in mind, they will be separated from one another and have private pools with the kind of lovely ocean vistas that make visiting the Maldives so appealing.
In contrast to many other Maldivian resorts that are more geared toward couples, this new Mandarin Oriental will be a family-friendly affair with kids and teens clubs, watersports and a dive center, tennis courts and a resort swimming pool, as well as inclusive leisure activities that everyone can take part in.
There have been no official announcements about the resort, however Mandarin Oriental has said that it would contain six restaurants, including three speciality restaurants as well as a sunset bar. However, if the premium brand’s other resorts throughout the globe are any indication, you can expect high-quality and excellent meals served in an elegant ambiance at this location.
Along with the hotel’s 12 treatment rooms, a sauna and steam room, a beauty salon, and different “vitality pools,” visitors will have the opportunity to rest even more. A range of activities, as well as Mandarin Oriental’s unique spa treatments, will be available at the spa, which will be staffed by experienced wellness practitioners.
Additionally, the resort will have conference and event spaces, as well as wedding amenities – because who wouldn’t want to tie the knot in one of the most gorgeous spots on the planet?
Mandarin Oriental is collaborating with DAMAC Properties, a Dubai-based real estate business that has constructed luxury projects throughout the globe and owns a portfolio of hotels in the United Arab Emirates, to construct the new resort. The couple also claims that they will be working with teams of international specialists to guarantee that sustainable building methods are used throughout the development process.
Being able to go to the Maldives is a dream come true for many individuals all over the globe, although a costly one. While costs for this exclusive island resort have not yet been released, you may expect to pay a significant sum of money, given that nightly rates at Mandarin Oriental resorts in cities such as New York City are easily in excess of $800.
It does not rule out the possibility of finding a method to travel across this gorgeous nation — particularly if you have some points and miles waiting to be used.
Just this week TPG revealed that off-peak points availability at the Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands, is quite open for the summer. As an example, we discovered two Marriott Bonvoy award nights at 70,000 points each for the month of July this year. We called it one of the greatest hotel openings of 2021, and one of our reviewers who visited there said: “The difference between a wonderful stay and a genuinely unforgettable stay is in the details,” and after spending only a few nights there, we can state with sure that it does.
And, happily, we have a lot of useful tools to help you figure out the best ways to put your airline miles to work to go there for less.
