According to the Maldives Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Indian nationals who go to the island nation for business reasons would now be eligible for free visa entry.
The Maldives government has begun the process of granting Indian nationals free visa sections for business reasons for a duration not exceeding the 90-day period during which they are not required to have a visa in place. According to the Maldives Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Indian nationals who go to the island country for business reasons would be eligible for free visa entry starting on February 1.
As per the Agreement on the Facilitation of Visa Arrangements between the governments of the Maldives and India, which was signed on December 17, 2018, the new arrangement is in effect. The Maldives is also eligible for the same program, and as a result, many entry, non-resident visas, and business visas will be granted to Maldivians and Indian nationals for a period of 90 days within a half year starting today.
According to the Maldives Ministry of Foreign Affairs, any Indian national who has been granted a business visa is able to extend their visa for a period of up to 180 days throughout a calendar year. This is in addition to the 90-day visa-free period provided in the bilateral agreement, which is now in effect.
